Amino functional silane coupling agent and adhesion promoter. Primary mono-amino functional silane — the general-purpose workhorse of the family, used wherever an organic polymer has to be bonded to an inorganic surface. Releases ethanol on hydrolysis, preferred where methanol must be avoided. Trifunctional triethoxy grade (APTES) — the most widely used amino silane, with one more hydrolyzable group than the methyldiethoxy analogue for higher crosslink density.
