Alkyl alkoxy silane used as a surface modifier and hydrophobing agent. Difunctional grade — used to cap surfaces and control crosslink density rather than build a network. The short methyl group gives the highest silane density per unit weight and the fastest hydrolysis, making it the most economical hydrophobing agent. Releases methanol on hydrolysis; faster reacting.
