Methyldiethoxysilane

Alkyl alkoxy silane used as a surface modifier and hydrophobing agent. The short methyl group gives the highest silane density per unit weight and the fastest hydrolysis, making it the most economical hydrophobing agent. Releases ethanol on hydrolysis; slower reacting and preferred where methanol must be avoided.
