n-Dodecyltriethoxysilane

Alkyl alkoxy silane used as a surface modifier and water repellent. The dodecyl chain gives strong hydrophobicity, and the ethoxy groups release ethanol rather than methanol on hydrolysis, useful where methanol must be avoided. Forms a durable water-repellent film on cement, stone and mineral substrates.
